Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Chateau Mukhrani – Igoeti – Tbilisi
In the morning meet your guide and driver at your place in Tbilisi to start wine tour in Kartli region of Georgia. Depart Tbilisi and drive towards Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns, the cultural and religious center of Georgia. Today, it is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a living museum, with many architectural and historical monuments. Visit Jvari (temple of the “Holy Cross"), built in the 6th century. Stand on a high hill overlooking the confluence of two majestic rivers, Aragvi and Mtkvari. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century). Next stop at Chateau Mukhrani winery in Mukhrani region. The castle, with its unique vineyards, was an estate of royal family of Georgia. The history of winemaking there relates to a royal family member, Ivane Mukhranbatoni, who brought Chateau concepts of winemaking in Georgia. Have a tour, wine tasting.
Continue to Igoeti village in the heart of Kartli. The road passes through several traditional Georgian villages. Visit Ori Marani Wines, a startup of professional French wine maker. Wines of Ori Marani are product of the unique mix of Georgian and French wine making technologies. Drive back to Tbilisi for overnight.
